For all the Republican talk about tax relief, this no-brainer isn't even on the table. Powerful churches grow richer every day, while those who can least afford it cover the tax obligations of some of the wealthiest institutions in the world. Family values? Putting food on the table is a family value. Affordable healthcare is a family value. We need to stop subsidizing religious organizations on the backs of the working poor, and show that we do indeed place a great value on families. Otherwise "Family Values" is just empty rhetoric, which isn't new. What would be new is the Democrats showing some courage and actually doing something about it.

Next time the Republicans in congress are looking for an extra $20 billion a year to finance a war, insist on an income tax on religious payroll.

WE DO NOT WANT YOUR MONEY. REALLY.

WE WANT YOU TO DO THIS INSTEAD:
Contact your representatives and tell them to end the rip-off.
Tell them this: Tax the churches. Then VOTE accordingly.
